A vacuum lifter is a material handling device that uses atmospheric pressure to lift, move, and position heavy objects with smooth, non-porous surfaces. It works by creating a vacuum (negative pressure) inside a suction pad, which presses the pad firmly against the load. This allows a single operator to easily handle heavy items like glass panels, metal sheets, or stone slabs.

The principle : Pressure × Area = Lifting Force.

Create Vacuum: A vacuum pump or a compressed-air-driven ejector removes air from the suction pad.

Attach: The difference between the external atmospheric pressure and the internal low pressure forces the pad tightly onto the workpiece.

Release: Air is let back into the pad, equalizing the pressure, and the load is released.
