Vacuum Glass Lifter Critical Safety & Usage Guidelines
1. Pre-Use Inspection:
Check Cups: Look for cracks, cuts, or excessive wear. Replace damaged cups immediately.
Check Surface: Ensure glass is clean, dry, smooth, and free of cracks or chips at the contact points.
Test Vacuum: Do a test lift at a low height first to confirm hold.
2. Proper Placement:
Place cups symmetrically to balance the load.
Avoid edges. Maintain a safe distance from the glass edge (typically 2-4 inches/5-10 cm, refer to manufacturer specs).
Never place a cup over a crack, hole, or deep scratch.
3. During Use:
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Safety gloves and steel-toe boots are essential.
Lift with Your Legs, Not Your Back. Keep the load close to your body.
Maintain Clear Communication when working with a partner.
Never carry glass over people. Plan your path.
Never use a suction lifter as a permanent support or hanging device.
4. Limitations – When NOT to Use:
Rough, porous, or dirty surfaces.
Curved glass (unless using cups specifically designed for curvature).
Wet or icy conditions that can break the seal.
Glass with coatings or films that could be damaged (check cup material compatibility).
Beyond the rated weight capacity of the lifter.
