Daily & Periodic Inspection Details
Daily Walk-Around (Before/After Use)
Structure: Check boom, outriggers, chassis for cracks, bends, or corrosion.
Wire Rope & Hook: Look for broken wires, kinks, wear, rust; ensure hook latch works.
Hydraulics: Check oil level (between marks); inspect hoses and fittings for leaks.
Safety Devices: Test emergency stop, overload protection, limit switches.
Electrical: Check for loose, frayed, or wet wiring; test lights and alarms.
Weekly/Monthly Checks (add to daily list)
Fasteners: Tighten all external bolts/nuts, especially on boom and undercarriage.
Tracks/Tires: Check track tension & wear, or tire pressure & tread.
Pins & Bearings: Inspect pin wear; apply grease.
Filters: Clean or replace hydraulic return filter if equipped with a service indicator.
Annual/Periodic Service (by qualified technician)
Fluid Change: Replace hydraulic oil, engine oil, coolant, and all corresponding filters.
NDT Inspection: Non-destructive testing of critical welds (boom, turntable, outriggers).
Load Test: Perform a certified load test to verify capacity.
Slew Bearing: Check bearing play and bolt torque; lubricate.
